Lyons Company recognizes the importance of investing in our employees' knowledge and skills
development. As part of our training program, employees commit to continuously upgrading their professional skills, both technically
and personally. Our Training Management System involves four areas of concentration: management, curriculum development, training
delivery, and training evaluation.
Each employee receives an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) which serves as a map of training paths focused on pursuing and achieving career
goals within the company. The Lyons Company Skills Development Center serves as a classroom facility for trainer-led sessions. The
training sessions involve technical and interpersonal skills, and most training sessions end in a written qualification to demonstrate
competence.
As a result of our emphasis on skills development, Lyons Company is proud to employ a group of professionals, among whom hold the following
qualifications:
- 75% of our Sheet Metal craftsmen hold the Kentucky HVAC Journeyman License.
- 85% of our Lyons Service Company technicians hold the Kentucky HVAC Journeyman Mechanic License.
- 23 members of our Mechanical and Engineering Departments hold Kentucky Plumbing Licenses.
- 12 of our craftsmen are Certified Pipe Welders, and we have an in-house training section devoted to Shielded Metal Arc
Welding (SMAW) pipe welding practice.
- Our craftsmen hold 6 other formal welding and brazing certifications.
In addition, Lyons Company routinely partners with educational institutions to create valuable student-employee learning situations to
enhance training and improve our business and services.
